Greatest Ever have changed the event running order to allow a special Darren Huckerby Tribute at the event at Carrow Road, Sunday, May 18.
Paul Nicholson, editorial director of Greatest Ever, said: “Darren has always been coming to the event and in the light of the news that he will be leaving Carrow Road for pastures new, we felt it was appropriate to show special recognition to a player who has had a huge impact on the club.

“It is very appropriate that he is honoured in the company of all the former Norwich playing legends who are returning for the event. This will be a unique occasion and it is very unlikely that it will be possible to get all these former players together at the same time again.”.

Huckerby commented: “I am really looking forward to the Greatest Ever event. Norwich is a great club and has been a great club for me. The list of former players coming back to the club is a Who’s Who of Norwich football and it is an honour to be included on the list and recognised for my career here. Of course it will be an emotional day for all of us who have been nominated, but it will be a lot of fun as well. I’m sure the people who turn up will enjoy the day, when else are you going to see all these guys again in the same place? It will be a good chance for all the ex-players to get together and chat about their memories.”

Huckerby had an immediate impact on Norwich City when his loan was turned into a permanent deal on Boxing Day 2003 at the game against Nottingham Forest. His pace and skill terrorised defences throughout that season as City stormed to the Championship title by eight clear points. He went on to make a total of 203 appearances scoring a total of 48 goals.

The culmination of this celebration will be the unveiling of Norwich City’s Greatest Ever XI, as voted for by the fans, on the pitch at Carrow Road on Sunday, May 18.  Currently 27 of the player nominees have confirmed they will be attending the event on May 18. Further nominees are expected to confirm their attendance over the next few days.

Live on-stage there will be performances from world renowned music acts, including Jamelia, X-Factor finalists Rhydian, Ray Quinn and Ben Mills, plus Killer Queen and local indie band Huck. This will be a full day of entertainment with doors opening at 1.30pm and the show finishing at about 7pm.

There are still tickets available and they can be bought from the ticket office in The Mall or from Carrow Road. Tickets can also be bought on-line at www.canaries.co.uk/greatestever. For telephone bookings call 0870 444 1902.
