Chris Goreham (Host)

Norfolk born and bred, Chris the Taurean grew up in Attleborough and Spixworth and spent too much time at Carrow Road.
After leaving Sprowston High School at the age of 16, Chris was faced with the grim reality of getting a job to juggle with his media course at City College.
As a result, he was forced to spend time selling records for Richard Branson in Norwich and Chris still feels never got the credit he deserved for helping Branson to make his millions.
On the plus side, Branson's cash hand out, or salary as most would call it, allowed him to buy his first car – a Ford Fiesta and appropriately enough his favourite song is In Your Car by Kenickie.
Towards the late 1980s Chris got in with a bad crowd. Being somewhat easily led, he finished up covering local football and cricket for BBC Radio Norfolk in 1998.
After many years of getting up early to present the breakfast sports news, Chris now enjoys waking up at a more reasonable time of day, in his position of presenting the afternoon show between 2 and 5pm.
Away from Radio Norfolk, Chris enjoys going to sport, music and comedy events - though can often been seen writing a review on said event for bbc.co.uk/norfolk.
Chris' favourite film is Twin Town and if he could be anywhere in the world - Primrose Hill would always win. Bad jokes are his self-confessed worst habit!
Football Anorak
A big football fan, Chris says Carrow Road is his favourite place in Norfolk. His favourite colours are (predictably) yellow and green and he feels closely associated with Dave Storry, the cartoon character out of the Mirror's Scorer.
Norwich City gave him his worst birthday present ever in 1995 - relegation! Just two days after Chris had been celebrating being another year older.
Having grown up watching Thomas The Tank Engine, his preferred choice of television these days is Soccer AM.
Chris' favourite sandwich is a BLT and his favourite food is lasagne, but he said he would hate to be trapped in a lift with the England Rugby Union forward line because they're all very big and the lift cable might snap!
The people he would most like to be stuck with are radio stars Lauren Laverne and Mark Radcliffe. His favourite item of clothing is his 'big coat' a la John Motson - now that's a real football anorak!
Jamelia (Headline Act)
“If anyone is likely to beat the world-conquering stars of American R&B at their own game, it’s Jamelia” Daily Telegraph
Jamelia is one of Britain’s most successful black female entertainers. Her career has spanned over ten years after being signed straight out of school at 15 to one of the biggest major record companies in the world.
In 2004, she had three top 5 hits from her last album “Thank You” – the seminal “Superstar” (no 3), “Thank You” ( no 2) and her co-write with Chris Martin, “See It In A Boy’s Eyes”, which reached No 5. Incredibly, Jamelia then stormed the top 10 again with “Stop”, her theme for the second Bridget Jones film.
At this point she was unstoppable, one of the most successful solo artists in the country. Her UK success was emulated in Europe where she was a continual serious chart presence, and in Australia and New Zealand where she reached No 1.
This triumphant period in Jamelia’s career also saw her sweep the board at the MOBO awards, where she won all of her three nominated awards, including “Best UK Act”. A week later no less a figure than Bono was genuflecting to her at the Q awards, where she won “Best Single” for ‘See It In A Boy’s Eyes’. Coupled with words of high praise at the same event from Elton John, you could have been forgiven for thinking things couldn’t get much better. But a week later Jamelia was signed by the prestigious modelling agency ICM and swiftly got her first contract as the face/legs of Pretty Polly and also a high profile contract with Reebok.
More recently Jamelia has earned the coveted role of appearing along side two of the world biggest supermodels fronting her own ethnic haircare range ‘Model Me’ stocked nationwide in Boots stores – and will this year be launching her autobiography following her turbulent childhood, abuse relationships and family controversy, which in spite of has led to her rise to fame.
Creatively Jamelia has been focussing on developing her acting skills and is choosing her next role carefully in advance of her debut performance and is currently in the studio this time developing her writing and production skills in the hope to give unknown artists the benefit of her experience.
Rhydian
Rhydian came second in the 2007 Final of X-Factor and is now signed to Sony BMG.
A classical baritone singer, he sings popular opera similar to Russell Watson and Il Divo and if he released an album he’s convinced the “whole of Wales would buy it”.
Ben Mills
Okay, here's the thing. Ben Mills, with his lustrous locks, his 26 years, and that remarkable voice that sounds like he's gargling a bag full of rusty nails, was never, strictly speaking, X-Factor material. The reasons were myriad: he wasn't young enough, malleable enough, or anywhere near sufficiently angelic. Instead, he was fully formed already, a singer and a multi-instrumentalist whose palpable talent and raw passion lit up Saturday night television in a manner more akin to a rock god than a pop puppet. Nevertheless, he was far and away the best contestant the show has ever had.
"I'd always watched and enjoyed X-Factor over the years, but never considered entering the thing myself," he says now. "It was a friend of mine, a fellow musician, who insisted I give it a go. He was convinced I'd either end up winning it or, at the very least, getting a recording contract out of it." What he says next comes with a disarming, disbelieving smile. "I guess he was right."
In the end, Ben came third in X-Factor, and is glad he did: "It gives me more freedom to establish myself for who I really am." He is not wrong. His debut album, 'Picture Of You' released on SonyBmg March 12th, will not only comfortably establish him as the country's best singer (which, let's face it, we already knew), but also as an artist with true potential, and the prospect of genuine longevity.
"It's what I've wanted all my life," he says, and he says it with relief. Here's why.
In many ways, it was always a given that, sooner or later, one way or the other, Ben Mills was going to have the world at his feet. You don't possess a voice like his - a voice with the depth of Rod Stewart, the gravel of Leonard Cohen and the rasp of Kelly from Stereophonics - without reaching a mainstream audience at some point. But his has been a roundabout path to fame, and often a seemingly unreachable one.
Ray Quinn
Ray emerged as runner up in ITV's talent show The X-Factor in 2006 - coming 2nd out of 100,000s contestants in the UK television programme X-Factor.
After X-Factor, Quinn was signed by Sony BMG and on January 16th 2007, recorded a swing album at the Capitol Records Tower in Los Angeles. His debut album, Doing It My Way was released on 12th March 2007 going straight to number one in the UK charts. His album also went platinum in the first week.
Killer Queen

Killer Queen debuted in London’s West End at the Strand Theatre to glowing reviews and national TV coverage. This was followed by a world tour taking in Moscow, Dubai, Cannes, The Azores, Bangkok and Estonia, as well as shows at the Royal Albert Hall and Birmingham NEC. The band scored an international number one dance hit with Raven Maize and Fat Boy Slim when ‘The Real Life’ used lead singer Patrick Myers’ voice to recreate the classic Bohemian Rhapsody harmony.
